09 · Symbol and name
Logo
A hexagonal prism seen from the front, with one point at the top and another at the bottom: three vertical bodies and two three-faced caps. It is the natural shape of the crystal the name comes from.
Anatomy
- Prism
- A hexagonal crystal seen head-on, with one point at the top and another at the bottom. It is the shape of the heliodor.
- Bodies
- Three vertical columns: two narrow ones at the sides and a wide one in the middle. They suggest volume without relying on shadows.
- Caps
- Two three-faced points, top and bottom. A thin gap separates each cap from the body.
- Gaps
- The spaces between faces are part of the drawing. In one-color versions they stay; they are never filled in.
- Name
- Inter SemiBold, converted to outlines, with no forced capitals.
- Descriptor
- The word “Médico” or “Medical” under the name, only in the versions with a descriptor.
Versions and download
Choose the version by background, not by taste. The viewer warns you if the contrast falls short and if the piece is below the minimum size. For a guide by background, see Logo and backgrounds.
When to use each piece
- Horizontal flat: the default version on light
- Horizontal color on dark: the default version on dark
- Stacked: covers, avatars and square spaces
- Symbol alone: when the name already appears nearby
- One-color black or white: stamps, photocopies, embroidery and engraving
- Reversed versions with their own background: when placed on a photo or a color you do not control
When not to
- The symbol alone at someone’s first contact with the brand
- The yellow Color version on a light background
- The versions with their own background on top of another background
- Mixing two versions in the same piece
Clear space
Around the logo, keep a free space equal to a quarter of the symbol’s height (x). Nothing enters that zone: no text, no borders, no other logos.
Minimum size
Below these sizes the gaps between faces are lost. For favicons from 16 to 32 px, use the flat versions in the kit.
